Kolejna transformacja kapitalizmu, wspierana narzędziami społeczeństwa informacyjnego, zakłada wiele endogenicznych zmian technologicznych wprowadzanych z uwzględnieniem środowiska instytucjonalnego służącego rozwojowi zrównoważonemu. Taka forma globalizacji potrzebuje lokalności, także tej kryjącej się w rolnictwie i na obszarach wiejskich, i stanowi szanse ich rozwoju. W artykule uzasadniana jest teza, że sieci społeczne rolników i ich powiązania międzyorganizacyjne stanowią warunek takiej zmiany, o ile służą zapewnieniu trwałości kapitału naturalnego, finansowego i ludzkiego.
